About Sifu

Born in 1967, Sifu Rob is a writer, musician, and Kung Fu instructor. Raised an atheist, he was sent to a Jesuit college, a conflict of views that left him questioning everything. At university, while majoring in History and Politics, he also studied Moral Philosophy, Political Philosophy, and Aesthetics.

It was martial arts that truly opened Sifu’s eyes to philosophy. Having read the classics The Art of War and The Book of Five Rings, he sought the philosophy that underpinned his martial arts, and so explored Taoism and Buddhism. This led to Sifu taking part in the ceremony to open his 3rd Eye in June 2003.

Sifu has worked in a few areas; mostly running a Kung Fu school, but also as a security guard and educator. He continues to explore various philosophies, and is currently studying Manly P. Hall’s The Secret Teachings of All Ages.
